Carolina Melis
Originally from Sardinia, Carolina Melis moved to the UK to continue her training in dance and choreography. Her choreographic practice developed an interest in screen-based movement that led to an MA in Communication Design at Central St Martins specialising in animation and illustration.
In 2004 Carolina won an Animate! commission for the film ‘As The Crow Flies.’ Projects that have followed include music videos for Four Tet, Colleen and Efterklang. As well as commercial projects for Sony PSP, BBC Jam and Animal Planet. Her 60” commercial for NSPCC, was nominated for a BTA Craft Award and she is currently working the on-going BBC3 re-brand ‘Threeworld,’ which won a Brand Identity award at Eurobest 2008.
Carolina is also known internationally for her illustration work, which has been featured in design and fashion contexts as well as gallery spaces.
